She comes from Osaka, Japan, hence the nickname 'Osaka'. Muggle-born, her family never knew she had magical powers until she received her invitation to Hogwarts. Even now, she's not totally convinced, since she doesn't show a particular knack for magic (or anything else, for that matter), and thinks it may all be some kind of conspiracy. All the same, she's determined to do her best here at Hogwarts. Unfortunately she finds life at Hogwarts very confused. But then she found the Muggle world rather confusing too, so that's really no surprise. XD

Osaka is spacey love.

Relationships:

Azuma: Osaka first encountered Azuma when he was her Secret Santa. They later bonded when Azuma helped teach her how to make bread. They get along well, and have similar personalities and thought processes (for instance, they both think Chocolate Frogs are made from real frogs). Osaka doesn't mind that he looks like a girl. :) Now that she is over Kiyo, Azuma is her current major crush. (Dropped character)

Rock Lee: A new student, Rock Lee and Osaka seem to have taken to each other right away. Perhaps it's all they have in common; they're both from Japan, both rather innocent, neither has yet shown a particular talent for magic, yet both approach their obstacles with joy and enthusiasm. They relate to each other, and offer each other support and encouragement. Underdogs have to stick together. Ganbatte!

Tomo: As classmates and friends, Osaka and Tomo go way back. Tomo was the first one to start calling her 'Osaka'. Though Tomo's brash, hyperactive style can often be a bit stressful for mild-mannered Osaka, she's often the catalyst that starts some of the best changes in Osaka's life, and Osaka values their friendship very much (even if Tomo scares her sometimes).

Kanmuri: A friend of Azuma's, Kanmuri is a source of wisdom and advice. He seems to understand the way Osaka's mind works (probably from years of being friends with Azuma), and is accepting of and amused by Osaka's eccentricities. He also gets along well with Tomo, a feat that earns him great respect in Osaka's eyes. (Dropped character)

Raito (Light): Osaka first met Raito when the rooms of the school were randomly moving around. He became fascinated with her inate ability to anticipate where the rooms would appear, and soon set about trying to understand how her mind works (Lord help him). He's since taught her how to play chess, in which she soundly beat him, only adding to his curiousity in her intellect. (Dropped character)

Miranda: Osaka's roommate, Miranda is rather shy and withdrawn. Osaka simply takes this at face value and makes no major efforts to pull Miranda out of her shyness. She just figures that's how Miranda is. It seems to have worked, as they've made a bit of a connection, in which Miranda offered to paint Gregory-chan, giving him a face, for which Osaka was very grateful. (Dropped character)

Haruko: Osaka's other roommate, Haruko is loud. And hyper. And messy. And weird, even by Osaka's standards. Truth be told, she kinda scares Osaka. Whether it's playing her bass guitar or cluttering up the dorm, Haruko is very good at causing Osaka much worry and stress. Come to think of it, she's a lot like Tomo, actually. Only taller. She once managed to lose Gregory-chan, which would have made Osaka rather mad if she'd realized Haruko did it. (Dropped character)

Dib: Dib and Osaka have a lot in common: they both enjoy wild theories about aliens and conspiracies, they both are labeled by the majority of the school as a bit 'weird', and they both have questionable grips on reality.... In any case, Osaka enjoys Dib's stories of Bigfoot and psychic ponies, even if she believes him more than she probably should....

Atobe: Osaka met Atobe when he was looking for volunteers for his fan club. Knowing of his reputation as a great Quidditch player she immediately joined, hoping to gain new Quidditch skills herself. Due to a lack of other volunteers she was quickly made Vice President of Atobe's fanclub, and soon after President. She is determined to do her best as President of Atobe's fanclub in order to gain knowledge and help lead the Hufflepuff team to victory!

Mello: Due to an accidental dosage of love potion, Osaka became infatuated with Mello for a week during her 5th year. This caused her to follow him around constantly, making quite a pest of herself. When the potion wore off, Osaka was left highly embarrassed by her behavior. She avoided Mello out of shame, though she was very grateful that he had been so kind and patient with her during obsession with him. Because of this, she has a great respect for him.

Matt: Matt is recognized as Mello's closest friend. This is why, during her potion-induced obsession with Mello, Osaka set out to befriend Matt. When the potion finally wore off, she felt ashamed of her attempts to use Matt's friendship to her advantage. She vowed to be a real friend to Matt, which turned out to be pretty fun, since he's a funny guy. (Of course, she's oblivious to his moral ambiguity.)
